Count on my support, cooperation, Buni tells new Operation Hadin Kai Commander

Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has pledged unwavering support to Brig.-Gen. Mce Ejike, the newly posted Commander, Sector 2 Northeast Joint Taskforce Operation Hadin Kai.

Buni made the pledge when Ejike paid him a courtesy visit in Damaturu on Monday.

He commended the commander for taking daring steps to keep the military on the offensive against possible threats.

“ We are collectively in the fight against insecurity together, l want to assure you of the cooperation of the state government, traditional, community, and opinion leaders, and the entire people of the state.

“This administration will continue to support all the security agencies and especially the military in the task of maintaining sustainable peace and security in the state,” the governor said.

Buni also expressed his satisfaction with the synergy among security agencies in the state and hoped that the commander would build on that for improved security.

In his remarks, Ejike said he was in the governor’s office to interface with him as the chief security officer of the state.

He said his officers and men were combat ready for all challenges posing a threat to peace and security in the state.

“I am not a stranger in Yobe, l know the terrain quite well because l have served here previously in various capacities, and this has efficiently prepared me for the assignment,” he assured.

The commander called on government and the people of the state to support the military to execute its mandate successfully.
