Facebook connect: Gov. Idris urges social media influencers to use media for positivity, development

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi, has urged social media influencers to use the media for positivity and development of the state.

Idris gave the advise at the Kebbi State Maiden Facebook Connect 2023, with the theme: Remodeling the Use of Social Media and Challenges of the 21st Century in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

He said,” The social media influencers should use social media for positivity, economic growth, social cohesion and unity in the state.

“Politics is now over, the focus of the government is to improve the welfare of the people and propel the development of the state.”

Idris, represented by the Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, reiterated his administration’s commitment to attract investments and promote economic growth of the state.

Earlier, Alhaji Kabiru Sani-Giant, the state Chairman of the Facebook connect, who is also the Special Adviser to Gov. Idris on Power and Political Matters, enjoined the users to use the media for unity, and to be members of one family for the progress of the state.

“Gov. Idris, is a man of vision with necessary capability and ability to develop the state into a land of prosperity.

“Any visitor who visits the state within the 100 days of this administration can be able to see the transformation started by the administration,” he said.

Sani-Giant urged the media users to join forces with the government towards attaining the objectives of the current APC-led administration.

“Abuses and defamation of character often seeing in social media will not auger well for the wellbeing of the state.

” You should enquire about matters to establish factuality instead of engaging in allegations to tarnish the image of one another.

“The governor in his wisdom as a father to all has been emphasising the need for collective leadership from the members of the ruling party and the opposition.
