There was total confusion at Oke-Baale area in Osogbo the capital of Osun State following the killing of a middle aged woman by unknown people.
The woman was said to have been homeless for some months in the area before she was butchered.
She was said to have been dragged into the back of a shops directly opposite Osogbo Local Government Secretariat where she was beheaded.
The assailants also cut off her two hands and left her remains at the vacant land in the area.
Our Correspondent informed at the scene of the incident that some suspected ritualists would have carried out the dastardly act.
Her remains was discovered by some shop owners in the area on Tuesday morning when they wanted to open for business of the day.
Gripped by panic, traders and shop owners in the arena refused to open their shops for business, apparently for fear of being arrested by the law enforcement agents.
As at 12noon when our Correspondent visited the area, residents and passerby crowded the environment where the corpse was abandoned.
No security agents was seen on the area and neither did authorities of the local government has made any efforts to evacuate the corpse.
Our Correspondent also gathered that, the victim had been living beside the road in the area and begging for alms.
