Fed Poly Damaturu Awards Contracts for the procurement of Radio Equipment, others.

The Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, has awarded a contract for the procurement and installation of radio training equipment for the Department of Mass Communication.
The contract was awarded to Ihwol Consult Nigeria Ltd.
While handing over the contract documents to the representative of the firm, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Ibrahim Bello Bashir, highlighted the significance of the project, noting that the installation of the radio equipment will enhance the practical training of students in the newly mounted National Diploma (ND) programme in Mass Communication.

He further disclosed that the Polytechnic is in the process of securing a broadcast license for its campus radio station, FEDPODAM FM, which will serve as a platform for students to showcase their talents and the institution’s programmes. Dr Bashir urged the contractor to adhere strictly to the project specifications and completion timeline.
In his remarks, the Head of Department of Mass Communication, Usman Disa, expressed appreciation to the management for prioritising the Department’s needs. He assured that the equipment would be effectively utilised for training and to promote the institution’s activities through the radio platform.
Responding, the representative of Ihwol Consult Nigeria Ltd, Engr Abba Yusuf assured the Rector of timely delivery and installation of the equipment in line with the contract terms.

In a related development, the Rector also handed over contract documents for the renovation of two female hostels, Yankari and Zik, awarded to FBS Construction Engineering Services Ltd. and VMZ Engineering Building Contractors, respectively.
Dr Bashir charged the contractors to execute quality work and ensure timely completion, stressing that conducive hostel accommodation is essential for effective learning.
The contractors expressed confidence in completing the renovation projects within schedule and assured the management of high-quality delivery.
The consultant overseeing both projects, QS Bala Habib, urged the contracting firms to justify the confidence reposed in them to enhance future engagements with the Polytechnic.
