FEDERAL LAWMAKER EMPOWERS 300 CONSTITUENTS IN ZAMFARA
A member representating Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency in Zamfara state, Alhaji Shehu Ahmad Sarkin Fulani has trained 300 youths and women from the constituency in modern farming, animal husbandry and vocational skills.
The beneficiaries were trained by the lawmaker’s funded NGO, “Fulbe Care Initiatives (FCI)” in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
Speaking at the distribution of cash assistance and empowerment tools to the beneficiaries in Maru town, the lawmaker said his aim was to complement the state government in promoting employment opportunities for teeming youths in the state.
Sarkin-Fulani said some of the beneficiaries have been trained in animal husbandry, some in modern farming while others especially women were trained in various empowerment skills.

“This is under my empowerment project aimed at reducing unemployment, poverty among employed youths and women from the constituency.
“Apart from the cash assistance, other items including grinding and sewing machines and fertilizer will be distributed to the beneficiaries”, the Shehu Ahmad explained.
In a remark, the Sole Administrator of Maru LGA, Salisu Isah Dangulbi said commended the lawmaker for his concern to people from his constituency.
Dangulbi noted that the gesture will go along way with present administration’s policy in the state in reducing poverty and unemployment among the youths.
“This will help in creating various opportunities for our teeming unemployed youths and women to initiate various businesses to be self reliant”, he added.
The APC Caretaker Committee Chairman of Maru local government area, Bala Dogo thanked the lawmaker for the assistance given to the beneficiaries.
Dogo advised other politicians to emulate him.In a vote of thanks, Director Fulbe Care Initiatives (FCI) Musa Umar Aboki said over 10,000 youths and women have sofar empowered from the constituency through the lawmaker’s empowerment projects.
Aboki urged the beneficiaries to utilize the opportunities given to them for their future development.
During the event, the lawmaker also presented a Peugeot 406 Car to one Laminu Dansadau and cash of N500,000 to one Bashir Bingi for their contributions to the development of APC in their areas.
Alhaji Shehu Ahmad also received a recognition award from Kanoma Educational Development Association (KEDA) on his contribution towards the development of education in Kanoma district of Maru LGA.
