He charged the matriculating students not to indulge in any act that is frowned upon by the society and the Polytechnic, saying “Indecent dressing is not tolerated here, cultism does not have a place here, and theft is a crime everywhere”.

The Rector who stressed the need for private partnership development of the institution said, “I therefore, invite all well-meaning indigenous business individuals, groups and corporate bodies who are willing to invest in the building of students’ hostels”.

He added, “We have a document from the Federal Ministry of Education of Private Partnership Development in Nigerian Tertiary Institution which will serve as guiding principles for the partnership”.

Gumau recalled that the matriculation was earmarked to hold in April, 2020, but for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which ravages and affected the whole world, forcing the Polytechnic to closed all academic activities and destroys not only the academic calendar of the institution but largely the nation’s economy.

The rector explained that it is due to the importance attached in giving out qualitative and affordable education to the teeming Nigerian youth that the management of the institution reopened after meeting up with the COVID-19 protocols as a condition.

The Registerer of the Polytechnic, Hajiya Rakiya Usman Maleka has earlier said that the Institution is known for its steadfastness in quality technological educational service delivery since the 1970s, also independently resourceful academics and academicians, studious students, moral uprightness and visionary administrators.
