Ganduje Advocates For Use of Technology To Fight Insurgency, banditry

The National Chairman of All Progressives Congress  (APC) Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has advocated for the use of technology in the fight against insurgency and banditry in Nigeria.

He made the suggestion today when he led members of the National Working Committee of the party on a sympathy visit on Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON COMN over the attack on a military formation.

Ganduje said the fight against insurgency and banditry must move with the realities of time to succeed. 

He described as unfortunate the resources destroyed by the insurgents and bandits across the country. 

“The resources meant for development are now to be used for replacement of the equipment destroyed. 

“Similarly, your attention as a leader is now distracted to some other issues and slowing your attention and pace on developmental programmes”  Ganduje said.

Governor Buni said government at various levels are looking into the use of modern technology in modern warfare. 

“We, at the Subnational level and Governors of the Lake Chad Basin Forum are carefully analysing the use of drones by the enemy to collaborate with security agencies to check the menace”  Buni said.

He assured that this would be discussed at higher level especially with the President to effectively checkmate insurgents and bandits. 

“This is a national problem because when they attack military formations and cart away arms, one can’t tell where it may be used, these attacks should therefore be seen as attacks on the nation”  he warned.
