Hypocrisy Of Zone C Political Leaders And Abounu Gallancy

Hypocrisy Of Zone C Political Leaders And Abounu Gallancy

By Onuminya Yusuf

The Governorship primary in Benue state has come and gone ,the winner has emerged and losers are still plundering on how they losed.

Despite intimidation and vuteperation melted  on the Deputy Governor His Excellency Eng Benson Abounu he remained  undaunted.

Many may not like Abounu as a person but his courage and tenacity in championing the course of Idoma nation has endeared him to me and many others.

Pundits may be in opinions that the Courageous Deputy Governor embarked on unrealised mission but I proved them wrong that Abounu has written his name in the political history of Benue state by polling a significant votes at just concluded  PDP governorship primary held yesterday.

Before Abounu embarked on the mission he consulted the Zone C PDP stakeholders which they collectively buy the ideas of having Idoma governor at this time.
The stakeholders overwhelmingly endorsed him as their sole candidate and promised to share his vision to the delegates.

For some stakeholders to backstabbed the Deputy Governor by mobilizing their delegates to vote against their conscience is a matter of concern.

I’m not saying if all the Idoma delegates vote Abounu he might have won but it will go along way in showing where we stand and our bond of unity. The hypocrisy of some stakeholders may not be far from their ambition of becoming a running mate of Titus Uba the annointed candidate of Governor Samuel Ortom  but what they fail to understand is that who ever emerge from Tiv axis must pick his running mate from Zone C.

As it is now most these betrayers who are jostling to be nominated as Uba’s running mate will be disappointed as Uba will not pick more than one running mate.
I applauded the Buruku  and other Tiv delegates who sympathised with Idoma nation by voting for Abounu .

Worthy of my appreciation is  distinguish Senator AB Mark for not interfering with the voting pattern of delegates from Otukpo local government .
Also worthy of emulations are delegates from Otukpo and other Idoma delegates who see beyond today, you have written your names in gold .

Though I have no personal grouse against comrade Senator Abba Moro he has betrayed the trust and confidence reposed in him .
After winning his primary Moro for the fear of Ortom blatantly mobilized Okpokwu delegates against our collective course.

I appeal to Comrade Abba Moro with the matter of urgency apologise to Idoma nation or go to Kunav, Sankera, Jemgba, Mbasev , Hiare and seek for their votes at February election because if there is no Idoma race there will be no zone c senatorial platform for Abba Moro.

For Governor Samuel Ortom he has never hidden his hatred for Idoma nation it is during his administration that he stopped given Idoma man the secretary to the  state government (SSG) which always a gentleman agreement between Idoma and Tiv.

Ortom in one occasion went on live television and said that Idoma as a minority have no right of seeking to be elected as the governor of Benue State.

The statement is not just an insult to the Idoma nation but a slap on all our faces.
Ortom have to be reminded that  despite his propaganda is consider as the worst Governor Benue has ever produced .

My advise to all Idoma sons and daughters is to shine their eyes and take their political destiny in theirs hands
