Khadimiya Donates N5m To Victims Of Inferno At Katsina Central Market

The Khadimiyya for Justice and Development Initiative (KJDI) has donated N5 million to, and sympathised with traders at the Katsina Central Market and the entire people of Katsina State over the fire disaster that occurred at the market.

It could be recalled that Hundreds of shops were burnt to ashes following a fire outbreak at Katsina Central Market on March 22 which resulted in the destruction of property worth billions of naira.

Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar Jambali, the Publicity Secretary of the initiative, disclosed this in a statement in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.

Jambali expressed shock over the unfortunate incident, describing it as an ordeal destined by Almighty Allah.

Speaking to traders at the market, the Leader of the Khadimiyya delegation and the National Treasurer of the initiative, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Nasarawa, who expressed our shock over the unfortunate inferno, urged the traders to accept the incidence in good faith.

He admonished the traders to remain steadfast in accepting the destiny in good faith, adding that no amount of relief could recover the losses incurred during the inferno.

Nasarawa, who presented a cash donation of N5 million to the victims, on behalf of the NGO and it’s Founder, the Attorney- General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN),called on other NGOs and well-to-do individuals to come to the aid of the victims.

Responding on behalf of Katsina State Government, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Markets Development, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf, thanked the delegation for the visit, describing it as first of its kind from a Non- Governmental Organization.

He said the founder of Khadimiyya was the first person to make pledge for the victims of fire incidence when he led the Federal Government delegation to commiserate with the people of the state.

Yusuf said they were surprised when the pledge was immediately redeemed in cash with the visit of the non governmental organization to the victims.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the traders in the market, Alhaji Umar Dabo, prayed Almighty Allah to reward the foundation for it’s humanitarian activities in the country.

The chairman also promised to ensure justice and fairness in utilization of the assistance amongst the victims of the fire incidence.
