Lawmaker complements FG, Yobe Govt. on palliatives to ease economic challenges

Former Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, said he was committed to complementing the Federal and Yobe State Governments’ efforts by providing 9,000 bags of grains as palliatives to his constituents.

Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo, Lawan’s Media Adviser, made the disclosure in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Tabiowo said the intervention by Lawan, who currently represents Yobe -North Senatorial District, was to complement various efforts by the state and Federal Government, to ease the hardship currently faced by people of his senatorial district.

According to Tabiowo, the intervention will be through Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan Empowerment Foundation across the 60 wards in Yobe -North senatorial district.

He said the grains, made up 6,000 bags of rice and 3,000 bags of millet would have beneficiaries drawn from the six local government areas of Yobe -North senatorial district.

The local government areas include Bade, Nguru, Jakusko, Karasuwa, Yusufari and Machina.

He said other beneficiaries would also comprise the Muslim and Christian religious groups and persons with disabilities in the communities.

Tabiowo also said Lawan would hand over the newly constructed and established Federal Science and Technical College Gashua, to Yobe Government for onward official handing over to Federal Government via the Federal Ministry of Education.

According to him, the technical college is expected to carry out its first students enrollment soon.
