LG Polls: Bagudu, Malami, others, urge APC members to massively vote Party’s candidates

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu have called on the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to massively vote for its candidates in the February 5 Local Governments polls.


The trio, among other stakeholders of the party spoke before hundreds of party supporters in Kamba, Dandi local Government on Saturday during the flag off of the Party’s campaign for the forthcoming Local Government polls in the state.


Speaking at the epoch making event, Bagudu commended President Muhammadu Buhari and security agencies for their sustained efforts to restore lasing peace in the state and other parts of the country.
The Kebbi state Governor also stated that the event in Kamba was organized for three main reasons which include to once again commiserate with the victims of the recent fire incident in the town.


” We are also once again expressing out deepest condolences on the recent banditry attacks in Danko Wasagu local government, resulting in the loss of lives.
” We are also here to flag off the campaign for the forthcoming local governments polls for the APC,” he added.
Bagudu also said the event will feature the presentation of APC flags to the candidates, hence recognizing them as the due flagbearers of the party.

The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum urged the candidates to seek diligent reconciliation among all the aggrieved party members.
Bagudu reminded them that they were chosen on merit, but not because they were more powerful than other aspirants.


The governor averred that APC was premised based on justice, peace, unity and equity.
” Upon election, you should carry everybody along and strive to provide more dividends of democracy to the people of the state,” he admonished.


Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu directed the contestants and other party members to embark on fence mending mission towards reinstalling unity among APC supporters in the state. Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu told the tumultuous crowd on the occasion, that he has forgiven those who have been throwing insults at him for whatever reason.


Also speaking, the Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami (SAN), acknowledged the mammoth crowd and exclaimed,” when truth prevails, falsehood must disappear.”


Malami added that the grand eveny has shown that APC under Bagudu in the state was still intact, united and strong.
He said that the party was blessed and proud to have a leader with dexterity like Bagudu and urged the people to positively reciprocate by coming out enmase and vote APC candidates during the polls.


The Minister stated that Bagudu had proven integrity, just he is a bridge builder and an honest peace maker.
The Chief of Staff, Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu said that APC was still united in spite of ” some doubting Thomases.”


Argungu called for renewed confidence in the party as it has recorded myriad of successes at all levels from agriculture to industrialisation.


Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Kebbi state APC Chairman, Abubakar Muhammad Kana Zuru affirmed that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu remained the recognized bonafide leader of the APC in Kebbi state as the Chief Executive.

Among those who spoke at the event were the Deputy Governor of the State, retired Colonel Sama’ila Yombe Dabai, former Governor of the State, Alh. Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, and former Minister of Internal Affairs, retired Major-General Muhammadu Magoro.

The rest were Commissioner for Special Duties, Attahiru Maccido, the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Nura Kangiwa, the Commissioner for Health, Hon. Ja’afar Muhammad, the Commissioner for Local Government, Hon. Hassan Shallah Gwandu, the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abubakar Chika Ladan who extolled the good leadership style of the governor and his myriads records of performance.


 Former Commissioners, Mansur Shehu Mansa, Special Advisers on Power Yusuf Haruna Rasheed, two former Members of the House of Representatives, Abdullahi Muslim and Halima Hassan Tukur also spoke about the development recorded in Kebbi under Bagudu.

The list also include the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammadu Lolo, APC Women Leader, Aishatu Gunabi, Member, House of Representatives, Bello Ka’oje, Chairman Disabled Commission, Hussaini Kangiwa, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Abubakar Nayaya, Alhaji Ibrahim Bagudu and Personal Assistant, PA, to the Governor, Faruq Musa Yaro. Others who blessed the occasion were, National President of Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Nasiru Idris, a stalwart of APC, Senator Representing Kebbi South, Bala Ibn Na’Allah and Chairman APC Elders’ Committee, Alh. Sani Hukuma Zauro.

They unanimously affirmed loyalty and obedience to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu as leader of the APC in Kebbi State. The Deputy Governor, retired Colonel Sama’ila Yombe Dabai, said, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has impacted positively in surmounting security challenges in the state.

Before arrival at the venue, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has paid homage to the Sarkin Shiko Kamba, Alhaji Muhammadu Zarumai in his palace. After the formal campaign flag-off, the Governor officially opened the APC Zonal Office, Kebbi North.

Governor Bagudu renewed his sympathy to victims of the fire disaster, at Kamba Market, announcing a donation of twenty million naira to those affected while the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, donated ten million naira to the traders. 


Highlights of the occasion was the presentation of flags to by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to Chairmanship candidates of all the 21 local Government Areas of the state.
