Liberian varsity appoints Nigerian scholar director, communications /publications

The Rudolph Kwanue University (RKU) in Liberia has appointed Prof. Elvis Otobo, a Nigerian scholar, as its Public Relations Officer and Director of Communication and Publications.

Prof. Otobo is also the Media and Communications Consultant to the office of the Deputy Chief Executive, Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute (OOLI) in Ogun.

This is contained in a statement by the President and Founder of the institution, Prof. Rudolph Kwanue Sr, issued on Friday in Lagos.

The university said the appointment followed the contributions of Otobo in the area of publication and research communication over the years in key institutions in Nigeria and abroad.

Prof. Otobo, based in the United Kingdom has academic and professional background covering Public Administration, Archives and Records Management, as well as Information Resources Management.

“The Office of the President and Founder, of Rudolph Kwanue university in Liberia is happy to announce the appointment of Prof. Elvis Otobo, a Nigerian scholar based in the United Kingdom.

“As Public Relations Officer and Director of Communication and Publications, Otobo will work with the institution to manage and develop the RKU website.

“He is also required to coordinate the university’s digital activities and online platforms, as well as handle public relations and communication activities.

“Otobo will also promote the RKU’s academic programs, activities, achievements and events and support the institution’s media and public communication,” the president stated.

He noted that Otobo would bring his wealth of experience to bear in improving the university’s digital presence.

Kwanue also said Otobo was expected to give the university more international visibility by supporting students with communication, as well as the faculties and the alumni.

Otobo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Benin, as well as a Master’s degree in Archives, Records and Information Management, from the University of Ibadan.

He also holds a Master of Arts in Heritage Theory and Practice from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom, and a PhD in Information Resources Management from Babcock University in Ogun.

The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that Otobo is also currently a director, Archives and Records Association United Kingdom and Ireland.
