MARAFA FACTIONAL APC ELECTS STATE EXECUTIVES IN ZAMFARA

Senator Kabiru Marafa on Saturday congratulated Alhaji Sirajo Maikatako and Abubakar Yargaida who emerged as new factional state Chairman and Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara.


Maikatako, Yargaida and 26 others were elected new state executives of the Marafa-led APC faction through affirmation during a parallel congress held in Tsafe, Tsafe local government area.


Marafa, in a message delivered by his spokesperson, Bello Bakyasuwa, who also emerged as the state Publicity Secretary, described the state congress of the faction as successful.


Marafa said the faction is aware and conscious of what had been happening within the party in the state.
“We believe that having conducted congresses from wards, local government areas up to the state level in line with the constitutional provisions of the party, we will succeed in achieving democratic development in the state.

“I am therefore, appealing to our new executives of the party in the 147 wards,14 local government areas and the state executives as well as other members of the party to be law abiding.


“You should be committed to the ideals of our dear party in bringing good governance to Nigerians,”he said.
Marafa commended the security agencies in the state for exercising their constitutional duties that ensured law and order, and successful congresses of the faction of the party in the state.


The factional congress was conducted amidst light security provided by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) who ensured free vehicular movement at the venue located along Gusau-Funtua road, Tsafe.


The congress was supervised by Abubakar Idi-Muyi  and Abdul Mijinyawa from the APC national headquarters, Abuja as well as officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).


Meanwhile, the newly elected Chairman of the faction, Maikatako while addressing his supporters in Tsafe, assured them that he would  work for the progress of the APC in the state.


“My blueprint is inline with the President Muhammad Buhari and Sen Marafa’s effort to ensure that the dividends of democracy reached the common man,” he said.


Maikatako urged members of the party to continue to remain united for the progress of the party in the state.
