Market inferno: Khadimiyya donates N10m to victims in Kebbi

The Khadimiyya for Justice and Development Initiative (KJDI), a Non Governmental Organization, in Kebbi, has donated N10 million to the victims of the recent Kamba Market inferno in Dandi Local Government Area of the state.


While presenting the donation to the District Head of Kamba, Alhaji Mamuda Zarummai in Kamba on Sunday, the National Treasurer of the NGO, Alhaji Mohammad Bello-Nasarawa,said the donation was in fulfilment of the pledge made by the organisation of assisting the victims.


He said,”The donation is in fulfillment of the pledge made to that effect by the Chairman Board of Trustees of the KJDI, Alhaji Abubakar Gotomo, when he led a special delegation sent by the Attorney- General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami,SAN, on a sympathy visit to the people of Kamba over the tragedy.”

Bello-Nasarawa said that the organisation found it expedient  to identify with victims of the inferno and to extend support to the state government in its commitment to ameliorating their hardship.
He also prayed Almighty Allah to avert  reoccurrence of the unfortunate incident.


Earlier, the National Secretary of the NGO, Alhaji Faruku Maisudan, said the NGO would continue to do everything humanly possible to better the lives of common man and provide intervention when ever the need arose.
Responding, Zarummai, while commending the foundation for the donation, described it as  first of its kind from any NGO in the state.


He also assured that the assistance would reach the targeted victims in order to cushion some effects of their loses.
The Chairman of Kamba Marketers Association, Alhaji Jamilu Hussaini, commended the NGOs for its purposeful humanitarian services to the people of the state.
