Bagudu affirms sustain support to women, youths in Kebbi

Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has described women and youth as the agents and pillars of development worldwide hence the need to give them optimum support to achieve their desired goals in life.


The governor stated this in Birnin Kebbi this Sunday at graduation ceremony of 450 less privileged women and youths organized by Nagari Cooperative Association.
He said that youths represent backbone of any social development and the need for government to support the drive towards youth development.


“ The foundation of any societal development depends on the youth, therefore government must invest in youths and women empowerment programmes that would assist them in realising their dreams.
The Progressive Governors’ Forum Chairman congratulated the graduands while also reiterating the readiness of his administration towards supporting the less privileged, youths and Cooperatives in the state.


He particularly assured the graduands of government’s readiness to providing them with working equipments. 
Bagudu further stressed  the need for women and youths to form cooperative association so as to benefit from the myriads of government intervention and empowerment programs.

He enumerated different empowerment programs rolled out by his administration to mobilise  and support women and youth development in the state.
The governor commended the Chairman of the association and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs for organizing the program.


Earlier in her address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Aishatu Maikurata applauded the State governor for investing so much resources in women and youth empowerment in the state.
She said the Kebbi State Government has invested over 30 million naira in the renovation of skills acquisition centers under the ministry.


She commended Nagari Cooperative Association for coming up with the laudable program aimed at assisting the less privileged as well as women and youths in the society.

In goodwill messages, the Emir of Gwandu , Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar and the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Muhammad Zaiyanu Abdullahi called on the graduands to make good use of the skills they have acquired.
