Mind Restructuring: Fear, Superstition And Religion.

A famous philosopher and former president of the United States of America, Franklin D Roosevelt; who in his life time conquered fear and propagate the gospel of FEARLESSNESS. He was cerebral hemispheres, intellectually mobile and courageous inside out, he posited thus: “Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the–other side of fear” “The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.” Yours truly is an incurable, unrepentant and unapologetically admiral of Franklin D Roosevelt’s philosophy.

Superstition is to religion what astrology is to astronomy; religion, superstition and fear have become a very delicate tripod and an instruments of subjugation, particularly in the third world countries. Fear is the enemy of Eminence, a weapon in the hands of the enemies. Those who chose to market fear are inadvertently helping the enemy’s agenda, which is to destabilize and subdue your confidence. The holy book, the Bible validates the position of fear; “God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power, of sound mind, and of love, it was further established in the scripture that, “fear not” was recorded in at least 365 times, meaning that, each for one day.

Fearlessness is like a muscle; from my personal experience and observation, I realized that the more I exercise it, the more natural it becomes to me… not allowing fear to define my personality and disposition became part of my guiding principles. I am also a great admiral of courageous personalities like some of our heroes; Martin Luther king Jr, Bantu Stephen Biko, Nelson Mandela, Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, Thomas Sankara and John Jerry Rawlings. Fearlessness and courage stand them out.

As a result, it should be noted that; often times a unique destiny carries a unique burden, it somehow becomes a huge responsibility for some of us, the responsibility of grace that was freely chosen by reason of selflessness which is the driving force behind the struggle. One major problem in our country Nigeria today, is the inability to give up our personal comfort and excesses for the good of the generalities and sustainability of the nation. Is it that there are men in our part of the world again like; Martin Luther king Jr, Bantu Stephen Biko, Ta-ta’ Madiba’ Nelson Mandela, Thomas Sankara, Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola and John Jerry Rawlings?

Religion in its original form was a bridge connecting us with our creator, the ominipotent God and also advancing humanity in many ways. It was meant for peaceful coexistence and generating unconditional love. Unfortunately, in the hands of manipulators, religion became a weapon of subjugation particularly in the third world countries. It has further assumed a very dangerous dimensions where political gladiators now hide and seek refuge under religious bigotry to create enemies amongst the citizens. They hide behind religious sentiments and propagate violence and intolerance just to achieve a set goal. They introduce ethnicity and religion at the slightest opportunity to drive home a particular narrative.

It is, therefore, not a big surprise, although it is a huge contradiction and deceitfulness on the part of the political gladiators who pride themselves as fighting criminality and corruption. The same elements are doing everything possible to circumvent the law in several cases of clear infractions ranging from criminality, terrorism and corruption. Unfortunately, the ruling elites benefiting from the rot in the system are using the tripod weapons of power, ethnicity and religion to actualise their personal agenda. This is unacceptable and must change. You don’t want separation, yet you are comfortable with nepotistic and marginalization.

The time has come for men of good conscience to rise up. NIGERIA FOR NIGERIANS MOVEMENT.
