NDE Flag Off Orientation Of Graduate Coaching Scheme In Sokoto

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) today flagged off orientation ceremony for Graduate Coaching Scheme (GCS) in Sokoto.

The training which is under the Special Public Works Department of NDE is targeted at 36 participants.

Addressing the participants, 

the Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fipko said they remained committed to their mandate of creating mass employment opportunity for unnskilled and unemployed persons in Nigeria.  

Fipko who was represented by the Sokoto State Coordinator, of NDE, Mohammad Umar Sanda Gusua said the 36 participants will be posted to 3 different centers across the 3 Senatorial Districts of Sokoto.

While admonishing graduates not to depend on their paper certificates alone, Umar Sanda advised that they should get something doing to become employers of labour rather than waiting to be employed.

On the GCS, Umar Sanda said, “”We will be

going round to monitor the 12 participants and 1 supervisor that will be posted to each Sentatorial District. You are going to impact knowledge to our future leaders in the various schools you will be posted to hence the need to put in your very best for the sake of God and good of humanity”. Umar Sanda hinted. 

The State NDE Coordinator also added that, each participant will be given 20,000 stipend while their supervisors are to get 25,000 for the 3 months duration. 

In his advise to participants, 

Suleiman Kangiwa, the State NDE Human Resources appealed to participants to be good ambassadors of their respective families, the NDE and the country where ever they are posted to serve. 

Kangiwa also noted that, they should count themselves lucky to have been selected amongst numerous other graduates roaming about the streets seeking for menial jobs.

Speaking earlier, in his welcome address, the HOD of SPW, said the aim of the scheme is to curtail unemployment, encourage wealth creation and boost  self reliance.

Responding to the orientation, one of the participants, Malam Akibu Bello said it is a rare opportunity given to them, noting that, they will gladly impact knowledge to their younger ones.

“”We are very optimistic that the training will not only go along way in making us contribute our own qouta to national development but also help keep us updated..

In a vote of thanks on behalf of female participants, Hajiya Fatimah Ahmed assured that, they will deliver to the best of their ability.
