NGO targets girls’ digital readiness through AI-focused summer programme
The Women Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) says its She Creates Summer Camp will expose girls to Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital readiness and other emerging technology skills through practical learning activities.
Its External Relations Lead, Mr Yemi Odutola, said this in a statement on Friday while announcing the return of the organisation’s flagship summer programme.
Odutola said the 2026 edition would build on previous editions by providing a more engaging learning environment focused on technology, innovation and creativity.
He said participants would engage in hands-on sessions covering AI and other future-focused skills, alongside excursions, arts and crafts, and extracurricular activities designed to encourage innovation and confidence.

According to him, the camp aims to provide girls with opportunities to explore digital tools and develop practical skills in a supportive learning environment.
“This year’s focus on AI, future skills and digital readiness reflects the world our girls are stepping into, one that is rapidly evolving and full of opportunities.
“Guided by our theme, ‘Designing Tomorrow, Today,’ we are equipping participants with the mindset, skills and confidence they need to thrive in the future,” he said.
Odutola added that the programme was structured to combine technology education with creativity and experiential learning to broaden participants’ exposure beyond conventional classroom settings.
“The She Creates programme has never been just about learning; it is about transformation.
“This summer, we are creating meaningful experiences, building confidence and unlocking the limitless potential in every girl who participates,” he said.
