Northeast Citizens set to Honour General Buratai at Special Awards Dinner

The Concerned Citizens of the North-East (CCN), a prominent socio-political organization dedicated to advancing good governance, sustained peace, and comprehensive development in northeastern Nigeria, has announced the recognition of Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff and former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, CFR, at a forthcoming Special Awards Dinner.

Head of Media and Publicity for the event, Lawrence Audu in a statement Sunday said, Ambassador Buratai, the former Army chief is receiving a special award in honor of his exceptional leadership and significant contributions to restoring peace in the North-East region during his tenure. “His strategic vision, commitment, and relentless efforts in leading counterinsurgency operations have been instrumental in stabilizing the security landscape and fostering a sense of safety and security among the populace.” He said.

The CCN recognizes Ambassador Buratai’s decisive actions and steadfast dedication to the well-being of the people, and is pleased to express its gratitude through this prestigious award. His exemplary service and achievements stand as a testament to his leadership and serve as an inspiration to aspiring leaders in the pursuit of peace and security.

The highly anticipated CCN Special Awards Dinner, where Ambassador Buratai will be honored, is scheduled to take place on May 26, 2024, at the distinguished Forshams Event Centre in Maiduguri.

The event promises to be a memorable occasion celebrating the remarkable contributions of a distinguished leader as citizens from the six states of the geopolitical zone are billed to converge on Maiduguri to honour this exceptional leader.
