NYSC Organises Refresher Workshop For Optimum Performance

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC),on Thursday has organized one- day refresher workshop for it staffs to improve the staff’s productivity,
The workshop which took place at Dakani hotel Sokoto was declared opened by Deputy director of the scheme in the State Alhaji Garba Fagge Garba on behalf of the state coordinator Alhaji Usman Y Y .
Fagge explained that the workshop was an initiative of the State Coordinator to improve staff performance in the role of an inspector in administration as well as communication processes, within the scope of the scheme at the state level, especially in field operations.
In his opening remarks, the State Coordinator Alhaji Usman Y Y represented by Alhaji Garba Fagge urged the staff to participate optimally during the workshop as the topics have been designed to help improve their job schedules and understanding of the rudiments of the scheme in recent times.

Usman reminded them that their ability to acquire more knowledge will help widen their horizon and enhance productivity.
Speaking on the role of an Inspector, the assistant director Akpala Daniel dwelt extensively on ensuring the welfare, security and utilization of corps members; solid interactions with stakeholders; neat appearance of staff; enculturating Corps members in their host communities.
Other who presented papers at the workshop include Dr S A Okparaocha , Nwaoke Emmanuel , Hajia Rakiya Iliya , Joshua Mutuah , and Usman Muhammed enjoined the staff members to put more efforts in ensuring the welfare of Corps members.They also encouraged staff to go through official documents such as NYSC Byelaws, NYSC Acts as well as official
publications/resolutions of the scheme, for effective dealings with Corps members and on the job.

They further admonished members of the staff to cherish their integrity, to take the refresher training seriously and avoid unethical practices that can tarnish their image and the image of the Scheme. They equally encouraged members of staff to be proactive.
