Sokoto ADC Picks Ambarura Governorship Running Mate

The Sokoto state chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) has picked a grassroots politician, Honourable Bello Isah Ambarura as its deputy Governorship Candidate for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

Hon. Ambarura, who is a federal lawmaker representing Illela/Gwadabawa federal constituency is to serve as the running mate to Hon. Manir Dan’Iya the Sokoto state governorship candidate of the ADC

Making the nomination know the state ADC said, Hon. Ambarura before going politics was an accomplished technocrat, a public servant who Rose to the rank of a Permanent Secretary before being appointed a Commissioner after retirement.

Ambarura, was later elected a State lawmaker where he served as Majority Leader before another election to the National Assembly as member representing Illela/Gwadabawa federal constituency.

The ADC while stressing that, Ambarura’s nomination marks another significant  milestone in the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections added that, they are very confident that all their candidates as sellable and possess the capacity to deliver good governance. 

A statement by the party said, “Ambarura’s extensive experience in public administration and legislative service will complement the vision of Manor Dan’Iya as the ADC presents a capable, credible and people-centered ticket for the 2027 Gubernatorial elections”. 

The statement as signed by Hon. Lamir Aminu, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Caretaker Committee appealed to the people of Sokoto state to support the Manit Dan’aiya/ Ambarura ticket as the surest guarantee for good governance.

Also responding to the nomination of Ambarura, a statement issued by Aminu Abdullahi, the Media Aide, to the ADC gubernatorial candidate commended the leadership of the party, its elders, and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in Hon. Ambarura.

“The consensus reached in adopting the current Deputy Governorship Candidate reflects the maturity, unity, and internal democracy that continue to distinguish the ADC as a party committed to collective decision-making and the advancement of the state’s interests above personal ambitions”.

According to the statement, the combination of Manor Dan’Iya’s experience in governance and financial management with Hon. Ambarura’s distinguished record in public administration and legislative leadership will provide Sokoto State with a balanced and credible team capable of addressing the state’s developmental challenges. 

Dan’Iya further reaffirmed his commitment to implementing policies that will prioritise security, quality education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment, agricultural development, economic growth, infrastructural renewal, as well as transparent governance for the benefit of all citizens.
