Taraba-North APC stakeholders urge party to uphold primary result
Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Taraba-North Senatorial District have cautioned against attempts to overturn the outcome of the party’s senatorial primary.
The stakeholders, in a joint statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja, said the primary election was free and fair and reflected the will of the people.
The statement was co-signed by Abubakar Ibrahim, Coordinator of the Taraba-North Stakeholders, and Dr Bilal Galadima, General Secretary of the Conference of APC Support Groups.
“We, the APC stakeholders in Taraba North Senatorial District, in conjunction with the National Leadership of the Conference of APC Support Groups, extend our heartfelt congratulations to Muhammad Bello on his resounding victory at the APC Senatorial Primary Election for Taraba-North.
“We also congratulate his colleagues and fellow winners, Sen. Haruna Manu of Taraba Central and Sen. David Jimkuta of Taraba South, on their emergence as duly elected APC senatorial candidates.
“Their victories were transparently declared by the APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee and duly monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“However, it has come to our attention that certain individuals within the party are allegedly orchestrating clandestine moves to undermine and overturn the credible outcome of the Taraba-North primary.
“There are credible concerns that attempts are being made to reverse the result already declared in favour of Bello — a candidate widely and overwhelmingly accepted as the people’s choice.’’
The stakeholders said that the will of Taraba-North APC members must be respected.
They said that the primary election was conducted in accordance with party guidelines, observed by INEC, and produced a clear winner.
“Any attempt to alter, manipulate, or subvert this duly declared mandate will not only violate party rules but will also erode public confidence in our democratic process.”
The stakeholders urged INEC to uphold its monitoring report and ensure the sanctity of the electoral process was protected.
They called on APC National Leadership to resist external pressures and defend the integrity of its internal democracy by recognising the authentic winner.
The stakeholders called on Taraba Government to remain neutral and ensure no unlawful interference occurs.
“Democracy thrives on fairness, transparency, and respect for the people’s choice.
“Any action aimed at disenfranchising Taraba-North APC members will be resisted through all lawful and democratic means.
“We urge all relevant authorities to act swiftly to uphold justice and protect the credibility of the APC ahead of the general elections; the voice of Taraba-North must not be silenced,’’ they said.
