The Nigeria Predicament: Worsening Insecurity And Increasing Separatist Agitation

By Richard Odusanya.

“I offer you peace. I offer you love. I offer you friendship. I see your beauty. I hear your needs. I sense your feelings. My wisdom flows from the highest source in you. Let us work together for unity and love.”-Mahatma Gandhi.

Unity is a famous ingredient for every successful recipe. Be it strengthening family bond, winning games, or friendship, unity plays an important role in achieving everything that is positive. Peace, Unity, Love and nonviolence should be our rallying cry and the catalyst for change in our our beloved continent of Africa, particularly, Nigeria’s precarious situation. “Cry mama Africa”

The interesting thing about it is that it manifests in several ways. Sometimes unity means pulling yourself together when life seems a big debacle, sometimes it is a slow, patient move towards familiar bonds, or sometimes it is sticking it out through the thick and thin with friends. It is more than just a moral or principle heard in folklore and great tales. It is, in fact, an art that can be created and experienced only when the others surrounding it are wholeheartedly involved in it.

In the meantime, as we continue to admonish and appeal to our compatriots home and abroad to be a little bit patient, steadfast and circumspect. We salute the courage of some of our leaders of faith, particularly, the RESURRECTION messages from Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, Fr George Ehusani and of course the state of the nation broadcast of Pastor Tunde Bakare. Bakare said “I am compelled to speak out because this is not the Nigeria, General Muhammad Buhari and I dreams to create when he invited me to be his running mate in 2011. This is definitely a prompt response to the Clarion call at the beginning of the holy week “The Nigeria Predicament: Justice, Equity And Fair-Play”

For unity to be real, we must stand the severest strain without breaking, we are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond. We cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose. “Let us work together for Unity and love.”-Mahatma Gandhi.

As we continue to rejoice in the resurrection of our saviour CHRIST JESUS, for the victory at the tomb and the appearance at Gesthemane on a day like today. We earnestly request for more voices and intercession not only from the leaders of faith, but from statesmen and critical stakeholders and friends of Africa…Every religion is good but human beings have turned its gead upside down to seek selfish ends. If those of us who claims Christianity can truthfully live by the tenets of the Bible, then we shall make a headway. If all other religions can also live peacefully with one another then peace will reign.

Christ has resurrected to rescue man which is the greatest sacrifice any can offer. Let us seize this opportunity of His resurrection to salvage the situation.
I humbly urge our political elites, religious leaders and traditional leaders to sheathe their swords to save our dear country from total disintegration and collapse. After all, there is no place like home.
Finally, I urge our political leaders to listen to the voice and yearnings of the people because sagacity and wisdom are not the prerequisites of the ruling clasd. May His death and resurrection not be in vain.

Once again we wish to positively project our next Democracy day celebration June 12, a day of healing. Our Noble statesmen, critical stakeholders, friends of Africa and His Eminence Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury who is presently the custodian of our president Major General Muhammad Buhari, should also use today’s occasion to admonish him, before it is too late.

NIGERIA IS BLEEDING AND CANNOT BREATHE..NO REGION IS AT PEACE PRESENTLY.
