We shall continue to ensure good and hygienic environment in Osun, says Hon Balogun

The Special Adviser to Governor Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Environment and Sanitation, Hon Babatunde Adeniyi Balogun has reiterated the efforts of the state government to continue to ensure maintenance of clean environment for residents.

Hon Balogun who made this known while fielding questions from journalists in Osogbo the Osun State capital said that, the decision is what governance is all about adding that, people needs to be educated on the dangers of throwing dirt into the drains.

The Special Adviser who highlighted Governor Adeleke’s administration’s commitment to curbing environmental degradation, particularly by preventing indiscriminate waste disposal into drainages within and outside the state capital added that the state Ministry of Environment and Sanitation would continue to pursue its core mandate of making the environment clean and safe for all in Osun.

Hon Balogun who enjoined the citizens of the state to join hands with the state government in the quest to promote a clean environment, reiterated that the Governor Adeleke’s led administration in Osun is fully committed to protecting the entire environment for its citizens.

Hon Balogun, called for more collaboration, especially with the private sector in providing a cleaner and aesthetic environment in the state.

“There must be a more robust collaboration with all sectors in the state in promoting a clean and healthy environment for the benefit and total well-being of the good people of Osun State.

“I want to expressed displeasure at the attitude of the people towards their inability to keep a clean environment while they don’t know that dirty environment has negative effect on humans health, so, it is imperative for us all to keep our environment clean at all times.

“Our amiable Governor Adeleke had already declared zero tolerance for dirty environment in the state, so we must always guide ourselves by ensuring that we work towards good and hygienic environment everytime” Hon Balogun said.

Hon Balogun added that, “We have been arresting people that are dropping refuse by the road side and anybody caught dropping refuse will definitely face wrath of the law”.
