Youth help desk wins 2026 civil service excellence award
The Youth Help Desk of the Ministry of Youth Development has won the 2026 civil service excellence award for outstanding service delivery.
Mrs Omolara Esan, Director of Information and Public Relations, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.
She said that the award recognised the Help Desk’s responsive, customer-focused, accountable and innovative approach to serving Nigerian youths.
According to her, a representative of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) presented the award.
Esan said that the Permanent Secretary, Dr Maryam Keshinro, received the award on behalf of Minister Ayodele Olawande and the ministry.
According to Esan, the desk was established in 2024 under SERVICOM standards, to bridge communication between government and Nigerian youths.

She also said that the platform enables young people to obtain information, seek assistance, lodge complaints and receive timely redress from the ministry.
“Since its establishment, the Help Desk has handled more than 5,000 citizen requests and resolved more than 4,100 cases,” she said.
The statement noted that at the ceremony, Keshinro described the recognition as evidence of the workforce’s dedication and the positive impact of citizen-centred government initiatives.
She said that the award would motivate the ministry to strengthen the desk and sustain innovative approaches to service delivery.
Keshinro, however, pledged continued efforts to improve systems, listen to citizens and provide efficient, accessible and responsive government services.
