ZAMFARA ASSEMBLY ADOPTS 4th SESSION OF ITS SITTING CALENDAR
The Zamfara State House of Assembly has adopted 4th session of 2022/2023 sitting calendar for the Six assembly.
The Public Relations Officer of the house, Malam Nasiru Biyabiki disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau.
According to Biyabikithe request for the adoption of the calendar was raised by the Deputy House Leader, Nasiru Lawal (APC, Bungudu West).

Lawal called on the lawmakers to review and adopt the calendar so as to enable the house make adequate plan for the 4th session which will commence on 15th June, 2022 according to the calendar.
He further called on the members to agree to close the House for 2022 end of the year recess for the entire members to re-engage their constituents and other relevant stakeholders to have a clear human needs assessment to plan for the 4th session.

Seconding the motion, Yusuf Muhammad (APC, Anka Constituency) stressed the need to adopt the calendar, describing it as a guide for the house sittings and oversight.
“The lawmakers unanimously agree to adopt the calendar and it was subsequently adopted as presented during the plenary.
“In the same sitting, a Bill for a law to prohibit violence against persons and provide protection and remedies for victims and punishment of offenders was given its first reading.
“The Deputy House Leader, Lawal while presenting the Bill before the house, the appealed to his colleagues to accept and read the Bill for the first time considering its importance in protecting the rights of the citizens.
“With the unanimous consent of the members, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Musa Bawa who chaired the sitting directed the clerk of the house, Sa’idu Anka to read the Bill for the first time”, Biyabiki explained.
According to PRO the development, the house stands closed for 2022 (3rd session) end of the year recess till 15th June, 2022 to commence the 4th session.
