ZAMFARA ASSEMBLY PASSES 20 BILLS IN 3 YEARS—SPEAKER

Six State House of Assembly in Zamfara has passed 20 bills in three years, the Speaker of the House, Nasiru Magarya says..


Magarya stated this in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the house, Mr Nasiru Biyabiki.
The speaker in a special message to the people of the state after closing the house for 2022 (Third session) end of the year recess of the sixth assembly made the revelation.


“This is tremendous achievements recorded by the house of sixth assembly.
““He said both executive and legislative arms of government must be attributed to the overwhelming support enjoyed from the public across the state”, speaker said.


The speaker called for more support and prayers from all and sundry as it would definitely help in moving the state to the promised land.

“Within the period under review, apart from over 20 people oriented bills passed by the house, others are presently before various committees of the house for further legislative process and many resolutions were sent to the executive for implementation.


“These are in conformity with the yearnings as aspirations of the general public’’, he said.
He thanked the entire members and the staff of the house for their support and cooperation which he described as the basis of his achievements.


“Within three years of my leadership as the speaker, we have witnessed a complete absence of internal dispute in the house.
“The support i enjoyed from the entire members is my strength’’.


Magarya who reiterated the determination of the house to justify the mandates of their constituents, said a committee would soon be set to review the legislative agenda for a better service delivery.
“Our fundamental responsibilities of law making, oversight and representation will remain our guiding principles in this respect, he added.


He also sympathised with the victims of the recent bandit’s attacks in some areas of the state and called for prayers from all for the divine intervention to avert the security challenges militating our progress as a state.


Magarya commended people of the state for their kindness, resilience, support and prayer to the present administration under Gov. Bello Matawalle.
