According to him, if it is taking the APC these long to address the issue of running mate, how then would Nigerians have confidence in their ability to address the legions of challanges confronting this country?.

“We have seen how poorly the APC have performed. The APC is not organised. It is just an assemblage of power seekers, that do not  have the interest of this great country at heart.

“Use your PVC at the appropriate time to send away APC. We will explain to you better in due course when it is time for campaign who is our presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa”. Tambuwal assured.

Prominent amongst those that defected to the PDP included, Sokoto State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Aminu Achida, serving House of Representatives members, Hon Balarabe Salame, and Yusuf Isa Kurdula, former Minister of Transportation and governorship aspirant of the APC, Hon Yusuf Suleiman, Hon Abdullahi Gumbi,  Senator Bello Jibril  Gada, and a former local government chairman, Hon Abdullahi Hassan.

Addressing the mammoth crowd of supporters, the State Assembly Speaker, Hon Achida appealed to the people of Sokoto not to have anything to do with illiterates, selfish and homosexually minded politicians come 2023.

On his part, the PDP vice Presidential candidate, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa said they believe in one Nigeria unlike the APC that has tried to divide the country and publicly said they do not believe in one Nigeria.

“APC has tried to divide our country. But I can assure you today that our Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will begin to rebuild Nigeria into one”.

While adding that in 2015 the APC promised to bring change but a very negative one that has destroyed every facet of our national lives, Dr Okowa added that, “APC  is not mindful of the future of Nigerians as they have surrendered that they cannot stop the insecurity”.

Dr Okowa who assured the people of Sokoto State that there is a big position waiting for Tambuwal come 2023 further decried that, “The APC government has failed all Nigerians”.

Continuing, the PDP vice Presidential candidate noted that they are on a rescue Nigeria mission, hence appealing to all and sundry to join hands with them towards rebuilding the Nigeria of our collective dreams.

The defectors were received into the PDP by Ambassador Umar Damagum on behalf of the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorcha Ayu.
