Isiyaka Ayinde, an 80-year-old resident of the Araromi Imota area in Lagos State, tragically ended his life on Thursday, March 7, by hanging himself in the kitchen of the WatchTower.

The distressing incident was confirmed by Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer.

He said: “The scene has been visited by the DCB personnel of the division, and photographs were taken.

“The family of the deceased is not interested in depositing the body at the mortuary but rather prefers burying the corpse immediately as a result of the age and religious inclination of the deceased.”

The shocking act has left the community in disbelief as they grapple with the loss of Ayinde. However, the authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, hoping to shed light on what led him to take such drastic action.
