The Kebbi State Movement for the Cry of Justice, under the aegis of the state stakeholders forum, says it has commenced deliberation and move to ensure equitable share of political powers between the three senatorial districts in the state.

The Spokesperson of the forum, who is the state Permanent Commissioner of Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Lamba, made the statement while briefing newsmen at the heels of the stakeholders’ meeting in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

“The aim and main focus of the meeting was not to patronise any politician or promote anybody, rather than to enshrine our moto and slogan of equity in all the political spheres of human endeavour in the state.”

Lamba explained that the stakeholders would want to see a situation where by the agitation of other zones would be addressed and resolved justly and equitably.

“If you could recall this country was balkanised into six geo- political zones with the sole of ensuring equitable representation of all the citizens in the country.

“So also, each of our states have representation of three senators in the National Assembly, in respective of the population and size of the state in order to ensure representation of all the citizens in the country.

“Kano State has about 44 local government areas while Ebonyi State has about eight local government areas but each has representation of three senators in the National Assembly.

“Kebbi state has three senatorial zones as North, South and Central but the central district seems to have upper hands in most of the governors and ministers we have produced in the state from inception in 1991 to date.

“We want to ensure that other zones have the same opportunity and share in the future, hence we met in Zuru LGA on March 28 and deliberated in order to move the state forward equitably and justly, ” he said.

Lamba averred that the forum was not there to criticise any zone or politician rather to fine-tune ways to address the agitation and aspiration of others equitably and peacefully via deliberations, meetings and consultations in the state.

The spokesperson called on the political office holders and politicians to temper justice with mercy and promote equity and justice disposition in the state.
