New Year’s Call for “Uncommon Peaceful And Constitutional Resistance” Issued by All Democratic Alliance
As the nation ushers in the new year, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has issued a strong call to Nigerians, urging them to demonstrate “uncommon, peaceful and constitutional resistance” against current governance challenges.
The political association acknowledged the “uncommon resilience” Nigerians have shown in the face of severe economic and social hardships.
In a statement released on January 1, 2026, ADA expressed deep concern over ongoing governance issues, including policy instability and uncertainty, which they believe have eroded public confidence in the economy and institutions.
While commending the endurance of citizens, the ADA emphasized that the time has come for peaceful and lawful resistance to unconstitutional and insensitive practices that undermine the welfare and rights of the Nigerian people.
The ADA highlighted the persistent unmet aspirations of Nigerians, citing deepening hardship, insecurity, economic uncertainty, and concerns over national sovereignty.
They posited that this disillusionment underscores the urgent need for accountable and people-centered governance. The Political Party also presented itself as a credible, principled, and constitutionally grounded alternative, ready to restore public trust, while expressing concern over perceived efforts to hinder its registration as a threat to democratic pluralism.

Furthermore, the ADA warned of the dangers posed by the weakening of political pluralism and the suppression of new political platforms, which they argue narrows democratic space.
They urged Nigerians to reject political coercion and practices inflicting hardship through peaceful civic engagement and democratic participation, emphasizing that the nation’s destiny lies with its people exercising their sovereignty responsibly and courageously.
The ADA pledged its commitment to democracy, national unity, social justice, and economic recovery, offering to partner with Nigerians on a “constitutional rescue mission.”
