Adamawa APC guber candidate pledges inclusive governance
Mr Tijjani Galadima, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Adamawa, has pledged to build an inclusive government that provides opportunities for youths, women and vulnerable groups.
Galadima made the pledge on Wednesday in Yola, while addressing a news conference to formally unveil his campaign for the 2027 governorship election.
He said his administration, if elected, would make youth development a major component of its economic and security policies.
“A young person with skills, dignity, income and hope is an asset to society.
“That is why our security policy and our economic policy must work together,” he said.
The candidate said the state’s large youth population should be viewed as an economic opportunity rather than a challenge.
“Our young people are potentially our greatest economic asset.
“The question is whether we will equip them to become producers, entrepreneurs, innovators, technicians and professionals,” he said.
Galadima said his ‘Adamawa Rising Agenda’ would expand opportunities in technology, agriculture, entrepreneurship, technical education, creative industries and emerging sectors.
He said his administration would promote innovation and enterprise hubs while connecting skills acquisition programmes to actual economic opportunities.

“We will place technical and vocational education at the heart of our development strategy.
“I want an Adamawa where a young person does not believe that the only way to succeed is to leave the state.
“I want our young people to be able to say: There is opportunity here. There is dignity here. And there is a future here,” he said.
Galadima also promised to promote shared prosperity by expanding women’s access to finance, skills and markets.
He said government would strengthen support for girl-child education and provide greater protection for vulnerable households.
According to him, development that leaves half of our population behind cannot be called shared prosperity.
He also pledged to include persons living with disabilities in economic and social programmes.
He said the elderly and vulnerable citizens deserve dignity and a meaningful social-protection framework, not occasional charity.
Galadima said religion, ethnicity, community or social status would not determine access to opportunities under his administration.
“Adamawa belongs equally to all of us, our diversity is not a weakness to be managed, it is a strength to be harnessed.
“No community, no creed and no corner of Adamawa will be left behind, I will be fair to all,” he said.
On education, Galadima said his administration would improve schools, strengthen teacher training and expand the use of technology.
He said the government would also promote science, technical and vocational education across the state’s local government areas.
In healthcare, he pledged to strengthen primary and secondary healthcare, improve maternal and child health and expand access to specialist services.
