A commercial motorcyclist, known only as Yahuza, met a tragic end when suspected motorcycle thieves fatally stabbed him near Pegi in the Kuje Area Council of the FCT. The distressing incident occurred on Saturday, as recounted by Danjuma Enoch, a resident of Pegi.
Enoch revealed that a farmer en route to his farm stumbled upon the lifeless body of the cyclist concealed within the nearby bush. Promptly, the farmer alerted fellow cyclists in Pegi, who swiftly gathered and ventured to the scene. Upon inspection, they discovered grievous wounds inflicted upon the deceased, notably deep lacerations across his stomach and chest.
According to Enoch’s testimony, the unfortunate cyclist had unwittingly ferried two individuals posing as passengers from the Tipper Garage area of Kuje to Pegi. Tragically, upon reaching a secluded forest, one of the supposed passengers brandished a knife, savagely assaulting the unsuspecting rider.
In response to the harrowing discovery, vigilantes were promptly summoned alongside the deceased’s relatives to facilitate the dignified removal of the body for burial in Pegi.
Despite attempts to seek clarity on the incident, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, remained unresponsive, failing to provide any information despite a text message enquiry sent to her prior to the report’s compilation.
