Malian Delegation Attends Sahel States Alliance Meeting in Ouagadougou

The Ministers of the Sahel States Alliance have gathered in Ouagadougou for a pivotal meeting, with the Malian delegation playing a prominent role in the proceedings.

On the evening of February 14, 2024, a significant Malian delegation, led by high-ranking officials including General Kassoum COULIBALY, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, and H.E. Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, arrived at the international airport of Ouagadougou.

This delegation also included Mr. Yacouba Zabré GOUBA, Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries, Aminata ZERBO/SABANE, Minister of Digital Transformation, Posts and Electronic Communications, Estella Eldine KABRE/ KABORE, Minister Delegate in charge of Regional Cooperation, and Fatoumata BAKO/TRAORE, Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, along with numerous officials from ministerial departments.

The purpose of their arrival is to participate in the meeting of the Ministers of the Sahel States Alliance, scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 15, 2024. This gathering is anticipated to address crucial regional issues and foster cooperation among the member states.

According to the initial statements from the Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs, this meeting represents a significant turning point for the Sahel States Alliance “SSA,” especially in the context of the current geopolitical landscape.
