The Niger-Delta Women Professionals have issued a firm statement calling on individuals suspected of involvement in the recent killings of soldiers from the 181 Amphibious Division to promptly surrender to the military authorities.
Emphasizing the importance of community cooperation, the group has urged residents of Okuama and its surrounding areas to provide vital information that could assist in apprehending those responsible for this appalling crime.
Dame Augusta Wariboko, the President of the group, and Dr. Agnes Tari, the General Secretary, jointly denounced the killings as unacceptable and a potential threat to the peace and stability of the region.
Recognizing the significant contributions of the Armed Forces of Nigeria in promoting peace, particularly through non-violent means, they underscored the necessity of condemning such acts of violence in the strongest terms.
The Niger-Delta Women Professionals voiced their full support for the military’s ongoing endeavors to capture the leader of the militant group and its accomplices. They commended the investigative efforts led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Chris Musa, aimed at uncovering the underlying causes of the incident and ensuring that justice is served.
The group stressed, ‘It is crucial that the suspects surrender to the military authorities promptly,’ and called on the residents of Okuama and neighboring areas to collaborate with security agencies.
