Resident Doctors resume work in Zamfara following the suspension of NARD strike
The Resident Doctors in the Federal Medical Center, Gusau Zamfara state has on Wednesday resumed duty following the suspension of strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).
The Dr Abubakar Muhammad Kaura Deputy Head of Clinical Services of the Center disclosed this to newsmen in Gusau on Wednesday.
“Yes, the Doctors in this hospital under the umbrella of ARD have resumed duty today.
“We have received their resumption letter through their local chapter of ARD and I went round to some of our clinics in the hospital, I found them working.

“We appreciate their resumption, you know no hospital management would like its doctors to go on strike, but sometimes things are beyond our capacity”, Dr Muhammad said.
Also speaking to newsmen, the ARD President FMC Gusau, Dr Hussaini Haruna confirmed their resumption to duty.
“Yes, we have resumed in compliance with the directives of the National Body of our association, that is NARD.
“We have already forwarded resumption letter to the management of this hospital and all our doctors have fully resumed to duty.
“The NEC will reconvene after six (6) weeks to reappraise progress made on the implementation of the agreements”, ARD President said.
Doctors were seen attending to the patients at various wards/clinics of the hospital.
