Third Batch of Yobe Teachers, Principals Undergo Training at National Teachers’ Institute Kaduna

The third batch of a three-week intensive training programme for principals, teachers, and mentors from Yobe State has commenced at the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) in Kaduna, marking a significant step in the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its education sector.
Speaking at the symbolic opening of the programme, the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, described the initiative as a strategic move by Governor Mai Mala Buni to prioritise education and human capital development across the state.

In a statement made available to newsmen by the deputy director information office of the head of service Alhasan Sule mamudo said the the Hos represented by the Focal Person on Training and Succession Planning, Ibrahim Bulama Yusuf, he noted that the administration’s commitment to capacity building is both deliberate and unprecedented, covering all levels of the civil service, including the recent change in nomenclature of messages to office assistants.
He explained that the training programme was designed to address manpower gaps created by the mass retirement of experienced civil servants, emphasising the government’s resolve to build a sustainable and efficient workforce.
Participants were urged to make the most of the opportunity by applying the knowledge and skills acquired to improve service delivery in their respective institutions by the NUT Chairman Yobe, Comrade Ado Idrissa.

The training focuses on four key areas: strengthening administrative leadership for effective service delivery among 79 principals of senior secondary schools; enhancing mentoring and coaching for education leadership; improving the teaching and learning of core subjects through Learning Centre Pedagogy using the approach for senior secondary teachers; and reinforcing effective teaching strategies for core subjects in Basic 7–9 for junior secondary schools.
The programme underscores Yobe State Government’s commitment to transforming education through continuous professional development, equipping educators with modern skills to meet evolving academic demands.
