WORKERS PROTEST OVER MISMANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES AT YOLA SPECIALIST HOSPITAL.

Some health workers in Adamawa state have raised concerns over the wanton mismanagement of resources and poor leadership of the Yola Specialist Hospital crippling the development and progress of the hospital for many years.

They made this known while staging a peaceful protest at the entrance of the State hospital in Yola the Adamawa state capital.

According to the protesters, the hospital lacked adequate medical and pharmaceutical facility and drugs, meanwhile the MD keeps importing quack personnel from outside the State.

They also claimed that the MD has been selling and dashing out some useful equipment belonging to the hospital which is why the hospital is lagging in development.

Pointing out that since the contract of the MD elapsed since a year ago, there is the need for Government to usher in a new dispansation that will drive the wheel for them in the right direction.

The protesters were seen displaying placards with various inscription and singing solidarity songs, saying enough is enough.

Meanwhile the Managing Director Mr. Wadinga Dauda when contacted by journalists described the allegations as baseless and unfounded.

According to him, by the time he resumed as the new MD, he met the hospital in a state of complete sham. That was when he decided to do something to salvage the situation and brought the hospital to the level it is today.

He said some of the protesters are no longer staff of the hospital and some don’t even belong to the health workers Union.

On the issue of contract ,the MD said the contract began since 2020 and is supposed to last for four years. Attachments
