Yobe Governor Meets with Security Agencies in Preparations for Ramadan
Ahead of the upcoming Ramadan fast, Governor Mai Mala Buni convened a crucial security meeting with members of the Yobe State Security Council. The meeting, held at the Government House in Damaturu, brought together heads of security agencies to assess the security situation across the state.
Representing the governor, Deputy Governor Hon. Idi Barde Gubana praised the efforts of the security agencies, recognizing the need for heightened vigilance during Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of reviewing and analyzing the security landscape to ensure the safety and security of all Yobe citizens throughout the 30 days of fasting.
With Ramadan attracting a surge in social and religious activities, including public gatherings, sermons, and prayers, the governor stressed the critical role of security agencies in maintaining order and protecting the public. He acknowledged that this period also presents an opportunity for criminal elements to exploit the increased movement and gatherings.

The meeting also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of traditional and community leaders in conflict resolution, recognizing their role in promoting peace and stability.
Deputy Governor Gubana urged Islamic preachers to adhere to the regulations set by the Da’awa committee, encouraging them to promote the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In closing, the Yobe State Police Commissioner, represented by DCP Operations Abdul Abubakar Ozo, appealed to residents to continue supporting the security forces by providing vital information that enables them to maintain the relative peace enjoyed in the state.
