Yobe opens anti-corruption desk to tackle graft in public institutions
The Yobe State Ministry of Justice will launch an anti-corruption desk in the ministry before the end of June.
Mr Saleh Samanja, state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu on Monday.
He said the desk would receive and process complaints of graft and abuse of office in Ministries, Departments and Agencies(MDAs).
According to him, the initiative followed a resolution by the Northern Governors Forum at its last meeting.
Samanja said the desk would serve as the primary channel for citizens and whistleblowers with credible information to expose corruption in government institutions.
“The Anti-Corruption Desk will receive complaints from the public on corruption or abuse of office in government institutions.

The commissioner assured of confidentiality and protection for informants, urging residents to report suspicious activities directly to the desk.
He described the desk as part of effort to strengthen transparency and accountability in public service delivery.
