ZAMFARA GOV’S WIFE CONGRATULATES NEW EXECUTIVES OF NLC WOMEN’S COMMITTEE
The wife of Zamfara Governor, Hajiya Balkisu Matawalle, has congratulated the newly elected executives of the state Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) women’s kwho were elected to serve for four years.
Hajiya Matawalle congratulated the newly elected officers of the NLC women wing at the 6th Quadrennial election and inauguration of the new executives.
The newly inaugurated executives are: Binta Yusuf, as the Chairman, Shafa’atu Abubakar Jabbi – Vice Chairman and Aisha Manga, who emerged as the Secretary.
Others are: Hafsat Mayana-Assistant Secretary, Hadiza Garba- Ex-officio 1, Sadiya Auwal-Ex-officio 2 and Asabe Aliyu, who was elected as treasurer of the committee.

The governor’s wife, represented by the Executives Secretary, State Examination Board, Hajiya Zuwaira Abdu-Gusau commended members of the committee for the peaceful conduct of the election.
“It is another epoch-making event in the history of NLC women committee in the state and wish to commend the leadership of the NLC for inviting me to grace this occasion, I am indeed grateful.
“I want to appreciate the present leadership of women committee under the leadership of Comrade Binta Yusuf, for carrying me along in all the activities of the committee especially on issues concerning women.
“I appreciate your support given to present administration led by Gov Bello Matawalle, especially in combating the menace of insecurity ravaging the state thereby increasing number of widows and orphans daily.
“I urge you to continue to pray for lasting peace in the state in order to allow development of our people,”he added.
In her remarks, the new Chairperson of the committee, Hajiya Binta Yusuf commended members of the committee for electing her to serve the union for the second term.
“I am happy with the kind trust, confidence reposed on me to chair this committee.
“I am giving you assurance that my leadership will continue to focus on issues for women development in the state.
“I commend our mother, the wife of the governor, Hajiya Balkisu Matawalle for her tremendous support to the union.
“We have to appreciate her able contributions and support to women civil servants in the state,”she said.
“We are going to continue to join hands with her office to have more women political appointees and Permanent Secretaries,”the new chairperson said.
