BNHA screens 8 out of Alia’s 17 commissioner-nominees
The Benue House of Assembly on Thursday screened eight out of the 17 commissioner-nominees sent to them by Gov Hyacinth Alia.
The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) recalls that Alia had sent the names to the house on July 27, 2023.
Those screened were Mr Yarmar Ortese, a serving member of the assembly, Mr Terkimbi Ikyange, a former Speaker of the assembly and Mr Nick Eworo, a former Deputy Majority Leader.
Also screened were Rev. Fredrick Ikyaan, Mrs Joy Luga, Mr Fidelis Mnyim, Mr Kunde Aondowase and Mrs Ann Itodo.

VMT NEWS reports that the eight screened nominees were all asked by the house to take a bow and leave after giving brief introductions of themselves.
The Speaker, Mr Hyacinth Dajoh, said the reason for letting the nominees go without much probing was because they had served the state in many capacities and had excelled.
The house has adjourned to Aug. 11 to continue the exercise.
