Lagbaja Holds Easter Luncheon with Troops, Commends Troops for Commitment and Sacrifice

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja has praised the dedication and resilience of the troops in safeguarding the nation amidst a myriad of security challenges.

The message was conveyed by Theatre Commander Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Waidi Shaibu, during the Easter Luncheon Celebration organized to honour the troops of OPHK at Maimalari Cantonment Maiduguri.

During the event, COAS Lagbaja extended his congratulations to the officers and soldiers for commemorating the Easter Celebration of 2024, urging them to continue embodying the core values of love, peace, and sacrifice while fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities.

Highlighting the significance of this year’s Easter celebration coinciding with the Ramadan Fast, the COAS stressed the importance of reflecting on God’s grace upon the nation, encouraging unity and solidarity among Christians and Muslims alike.

Moreover, the COAS emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of training and equipment for the troops to effectively combat the diverse security threats facing the nation both domestically and internationally. He expressed gratitude to the Commander-in-Chief for the steadfast support and confidence placed in the Army during this critical juncture in the nation’s history.

In concluding his message, the COAS reaffirmed the Army’s loyalty in upholding and defending the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This gesture underscores the commitment of the Nigerian Army to ensuring the safety and security of the nation amidst evolving security challenges.
