“Some local government areas in the state have witnessed so much insecurity that It has inflicted psychological trauma on the residents and affected their economic activities.

“I, therefore,  call on officers and men in this state to remain resolute in the face of these challenges,” he said.

Kaigama added that the police could not do it alone but must collaborate with the military, sister agencies and all critical stakeholders.

“This is including our dear brothers from the vigilante groups across the state for a better and successful result of reclaiming and dominating the public space.

“,However, my speech will not be complete without appreciating and soliciting the support of members of the press, who are very critical in the fight against crime and criminality,” he added.

“This marks the beginning of a new dawn in fighting crime and criminality in Sokoto State, as such I enjoin all officers and men to be professional and dedicated.

“We should all strive to perform our duties diligently and optimally with passion, vigour and sincerity of purpose, until the residents of the state sleep with their two eyes closed ,” Kaigama said.
